Cooking.

On account of my turning 28, i received a sum of money of which i used a small portion for cooking supplies. I bought a copper-bottom tri-ply 8-inch stainless steel skillet made by Calphalon at Crate and Barrel, another tri-ply stainless steel 10-inch skillet from Target, and have now purchased two cookbooks to add to my collection of cookbooks. The other cookbooks are, how shall we say, bland - with a few exceptions. The main exception being Anthony Bourdain's Les Halles Cookbook. It's very pretty and has a lot of recipes with a small number of ingredients - focusing on proper preparation of food. What i'm adding to that collection are two books - The Silver Spoon - apparently the best selling cook book in Italy - now translated into English, and "The Professional Chef" - i guess the cookbook of the Culinary Institute of America (i'm getting the 7th edition, even though it's in its 8th edition currently). The forthcoming posts will basically be about my cooking adventures.
